Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must meet the following requirements to apply for NORCET:
- Educational Qualification:
- B.Sc (Hons.) Nursing / B.Sc Nursing / Post-Basic B.Sc Nursing from an INC-recognized university, OR
- Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) with at least 2 years of experience in a 50-bedded hospital.
- Registration: Must be a registered Nurse and Midwife with the State/Indian Nursing Council.
- Age Limit: 18–30 years (age relaxations as per government rules).
Exam Pattern
NORCET is conducted in online mode (CBT) and evaluates candidates on both professional knowledge and general aptitude.
- Mode: Computer-Based Test (CBT)
- Duration: 3 hours
- Number of Questions: 200 MCQs
- Marks: 200 (1 mark each)
- Negative Marking: -1/3 for every wrong answer

NORCET (Nursing Officer Recruitment Common Eligibility Test) is an exam conducted by AIIMS for recruiting Nursing Officers in AIIMS and other central government hospitals across India.
Candidates must have a B.Sc. Nursing (Hons.), B.Sc. Nursing, Post-Basic B.Sc. Nursing, or General Nursing Midwifery (GNM) diploma recognized by the Indian Nursing Council, along with registration as Nurse & Midwife with the State or Indian Nursing Council.
