What Is IPM?
IPM stands for Integrated Programme in Management. It is a 5-year full-time residential course combining undergraduate and postgraduate studies in management. Rather than doing a separate bachelor’s degree (e.g. BBA / BCom / BA) followed by MBA, students directly enter a combined 3 + 2 years (or equivalent) programme. Many leading Indian business schools, especially IIMs, offer IPM.
The first 3 years (or earlier part) focus on foundational education — economics, mathematics, social sciences, humanities etc. The last 2 years align with standard MBA / PGP (Post Graduate Programme) curriculum.

Duration & Terms: Generally spans 5 years, with each academic year divided into multiple terms or semesters/trimesters.
Dual Degree / Exit Option: After 5 years, students are awarded integrated degree (e.g. BBA + MBA / BA + MBA). Many programmes also allow exit after 3 years, awarding a bachelor’s degree.
Curriculum Mix:
First 3 years: foundational courses in mathematics, statistics, economics, social sciences, humanities.
Last 2 years: management specialization courses, often same as MBA students.

Entrance Exams:
IPMAT — conducted by IIM Indore for its IPM and accepted by other IIMs.
