About DSSSB TGT Exam
The DSSSB TGT Exam aims to select teachers for various subjects such as English, Hindi, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Sanskrit, Punjabi, and more. The exam ensures that only capable and passionate candidates enter the teaching workforce to provide quality education to students across Delhi.
Eligibility Criteria
To apply for the DSSSB TGT Exam, candidates must fulfill the following requirements:
Educational Qualification: A Bachelor’s Degree (B.A., B.Sc., or equivalent) in the concerned subject along with a B.Ed. degree or equivalent qualification.
Age Limit: Generally, the age limit is below 32 years. However, age relaxation is provided to candidates belonging to reserved categories as per government norms.
CTET Qualification: Candidates must have passed the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) Paper-II, conducted by CBSE.
Exam Pattern
The DSSSB TGT Exam consists of a one-tier written test. The paper is objective-type and carries 200 marks, divided into two sections:
Section A (General Awareness, Reasoning, Numerical Ability, English & Hindi Language)
Section B (Subject Concerned – based on the chosen teaching subject)
Each question carries one mark, and there is a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.
Syllabus Overview
The syllabus covers both general aptitude and subject-specific knowledge. Candidates must prepare topics like:
General Awareness: Current Affairs, History, Polity, Geography, Static GK.
Reasoning Ability & Numerical Aptitude: Logical reasoning, Arithmetic, Data Interpretation.

A total of 5,346 vacancies have been announced across various subjects, including Mathematics, English, Social Science, and Natural Science. The pay scale for these positions ranges from ₹44,900 to ₹1,42,400 per month. The age limit for applicants is 30 years, with relaxations for reserved categories as per government norms The Times of India.
